We will start from the road through the Cañadas towards El Portillo at an altitude of 2.200 m. On the route which gradually approaches to the mountain, we will first reach the upstream back of the Montaña Blanca with the "Teide eggs". The wide but not too steep trail leads through pumice and lava fields. After about 1.5 h, the path will become steeper and we will reach the refuge Refugio de Altavista.
Over frozen lava flows we will head towards the mountain station of the cable car. With our organized official permit it is possible for us to go all the way up to the Teide summit. The view is breathtaking and if there is good weather the neighboring islands of El Hierro, La Gomera, La Palma and Gran Canaria can be seen.
After enjoying the magnificent view of the Canary islands, we will take the cable car back to the starting point.
