La Gomera

Discovery and hiking tour in the green nature and paradise of La Gomera
Program of the day
We start early in the morning with the pick up in your hotel or at a nearby meeting point. The ferry leaves in Los Christianos at round about 08:45 a.m. After 1 hour you will arrive in San Sebastián de La Gomera, the small island’s capital. Sometimes with a bit of luck you can even see some dolphins during the journey by ferry. Our transfer bus starts via the small and comfortable mountain roads in direction north-east of the island. Our first stop is planned in Agulo in the Visitor Center „Centro de Visitantes“. Nearby you find the spectacular new skywalk and view point Mirador de Abrante. Normally with good weather conditions you have amazing views to Tenerife and the Teide mountain.
We continue on the road through the National Park over the island. During the one hour bus trip your guide will inform you about the flora and fauna of the Garajonay National Park and more interesting facts about La Gomera. The impressive hiking tour starts in the green and famous laurel or “rainforest“. Later on you will walk on old village trails and cross a canyon with amazing views.
After our hike we will stop in a typical local bar in the small pottery village El Cercado (lunch is optional). You can taste a local menu for a very reasonable price. Enjoy the culinaric specialities of La Gomera!

This tour takes place every Tuesday.
After our lunch break the trip continues in direction west of La Gomera and we will arrive back to San Sebastian. If there is still time you could do a short walk through the historic old center of the island’s capital before going on board on the ferry back to Tenerife.
Route of the hike
This tour is a complete day tour with a timetable from aprox. 07:30a.m. to 7.00 p.m. if you stay in the south of Tenerife.
The hike leads you over forest tracks and small village trails and is also suitable for families and beginners.
Details of the tour
Transfer from the south of Tenerife with ferry ticket to Gomera, bus transfer on Gomera and back to your hotel is included in the price. All our hikes are organized with a tour guide in your language, who can inform you about Gomera’s insights, flora and fauna and much more. We only work together with qualified guides who have lived on the island for many years or people who are locals from the island.

The tour costs 99,- € per person including the ferry ticket.
Children until 11 years pay only 50%.
Guide and Transfer
English speaking tour guide, transfer from/to your hotel in the south of Tenerife (Los Cristianos, Las Americas and Costa Adeje).
Details of the hike
The hikes leads you on wide forest tracks. The first part is easy going. For the second part through the canyon you should feel comfortable in rocky terrain and should not have any vertigo. You also could get on the bus if you do not wish to join the second part of the hiking tour.
Technique and Condition
Ideal for beginners and families, a normal condition is required. If you feel comfortable in mountain terrain you will find only one strenous passage on this tour (ascent of 150↑).

Hiking shoes or boots as well as hiking sticks can also be hired. Make your reservation! (3,- € per pair and 1,- € per stick)
Weather, sun and wind protection,on Gomera temperatures can be cooler than in Tenerife’s south coast.
